Snoop Dogg, the Doggfather of rap, has been through every era and fad in the rap game and still remains one of the most current and popular rappers out there. Snoop's debut album, Doggystyle, in 1993 under Death Row Records, went quadruple platinum, spawning some of raps most timeless classics like "
Ego Trippin'.

After the success of
Doggystyle, Snoop was in the forefront of the rap world. This wasn't always a good thing, as gangster rap received a lot of criticism, both publicly and in the courtrooms at the time. But Snoop weathered the storm and went on to remain relevant in the rap world to this day.

Tha Doggfather, was released in 1996, a little softer than his previous, because of his almost jail time, and several court cases.
* In 1998 Snoop Dogg signed with No Limit Records and released
Tha Last Meal. This was a unique era, and a change in style for Snoop Dogg.
* Since then Snoop has worked with various record labels and come out with four albums,
Malice N Wonderland.
