John Lennon

John Lennon was, as you may already know, one of the great legends in music history. He was one of the pivotal figures in the most famous musical group of all time, and he was an innovative and inspirational songwriter. Lennon was born and raised in Ringo Starr in the late 1950's (although Ringo Starr got onboard in 1962); from then on, Lennon embarked on a global roller coaster ride of immeasurable success, both with The Beatles and during a solo career.

Solo

After the Beatles officially broke up in 1970, Lennon continued making music by himself. The beginning of his solo career coincided with his the beginning years of his relationship with avantcd'>Yoko Ono. This resulted in a musical collaboration between the couple for the albums ''Some Time in New York City'', ''Double Fantasy'', and ''Milk and Honey''; Lennon continued singing/songwriting rock and pop music for his own albums. He was known for his outspoken criticism of the Vietnam War; he wrote many of what might be considered protest songs, like "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine."
