Jay Z, originally Shawn Carter, is one of the most successful rappers of all time.  He also came from the most humble of beginnings, growing up in the Marcy Housing Projects of Brooklyn, New York.  He was so hood, he shot his brother when he was 12 for stealing his jewelry.  That's gangsta.  

Music Career
