Fabric

quilting projects. It's important to know what the materials offer before you start on your creation so you know what you're getting.  Let's look at the various different '''types of fabrics''' and the characteristics they offer. *Cashmere, alpaca fleece and angora wool are specific fibers of wool. *clothing and bedding. * Silk: An elegant, expensive, soft, and versatile fabric with a cool, lustrous sheen. Silk wears well in drapes and tends to accent flattering curves.  * Linen: Linen is a durable fabric we depend on for its fiber strength, which is 2 to 3 times stronger than cotton. Made from a fiber found in the stalk of the plant.  *synthetic fabric with soft, stretchy feel always blended with other materials for wearability. Machine washing should be done on cold, as acrylic does not do well with heat. *rayon is made from cellulose and is known for its soft, silky feel. Like silk, it drapes well, but unlike silk, it wrinkles easily.  * Spandex: The trooper of all fabrics spandex'>spandex stretches to several times its original thread length and returns to its original once released. It's resistant to sweat, heat and heavy washing, making it a popular choice for exercise garments. In regards to picking the pattern of the fabric, it depends on your personal tastes as well as your ability to match seams. Beginners should stick with buy patterns or solids instead of stripes and florals to avoid having to match the seams.  Working with fabrics can be tricky as a beginner.
