Christina Aguilera

By User:AllieCashel @timeAndDate(1278955373) No one expected that singing ''Reflection ''in Disney's ''Mulan'' would launch one of the most successful careers in the music industry, but it did. Since her performance in ''Mulan'' Christina Aguilera become one of the most talented and prosperous musicians in the world, as well as someone who has an impressive ability to shift her style to match the ever changing times. She was the youngest person ranked in the Top 100 Singers by ''Rolling Stone'', has won four Grammy Awards throughout her career, has sold more than 42 million albums nation wide, can powerfully sing four entire octaves, and can hold a note for 20 long seconds. You've probably already heard her belt out her high C, fallen in love and own every one of her CDs. Just in case you haven't though, make sure you listen to some of Christina's energy filled and vocally challenging music, you won't be disappointed.

Christina's Albums

* '''''Christina Aguilera''''' (1999) - Upon it's release this album, her first, made Aguilera into a worldwide star overnight.  It featured some of her biggest hits, including "Geenie in a Bottle," "What a Girl Wants," "Come on Over Baby" and "I Turn to You," and cemented Aguilera's place as a star in the pop music industry. The recording has a classic pop sound and focuses on themes of love, parties and joy and is still considered to be some of Aguilera's best work.  * '''''Stripped''''' (2002) nude and nude photographs (though everything was covered) to add a new edge to to Christina's persona. Although this originally had a negative impact on her popularity at the time, it ultimately increased her fan base around the world. The recording has clear influences of R&B, gospel, soul, pop rock and hip hop music and (according to an interview in ''Rolling Stone'' with Christina) "really demonstrates her inner personality". * '''''Back To Basics''''' (2006) - This album debuted at number one in the 13 countries upon its immediate release. While recording, Aguilera's added her own modern and popular flair to the music of the 1920s and 30s, a move that further developed her personal style as a musician. The release of ''Back to Basics'' marks an important shift in Christina's career, one where she was able to find the balance between the innocence of her first musical offering and the raunchiness of her second to create her own, individual style of music and performance. * '''''Bionic''''' (2010) - This is Aguilera's most recent work and has not been as successful as her past releases. It is a combination of pop and dance music featuring some huge hits, including "Not Myself Tonight" and "Monday Morning," mixed in with some rather uninspiring dance songs. Aguilera was supposed to tour with this album, but due to inadequate rehearsal time, had to reschedule for 2011.  Some of her other albums include Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade of Hits

Other Work

Aguilera has also excelled in departments other than pop music. She has released a variety of DVDs featuring her concerts or music videos, her own perfume line and has appeared in a variety of roles in film and on television.
